Kits contain everything you need to start stitching your photographs or pictures
immediately. They represent excellent value as you pay only for the threads you need
rather than for whole skeins (8 metres) at high street prices. The threads are also
pre-sorted on colour coded cards.
Kits contain:

Instructions
Full, easy to follow instructions will help you to get started.
Chart
Your chart will be printed on A4 paper - a lot bigger than the original design
to make it easier to follow. Charts are printed in colour with symbols on each square
representing the thread colour to use.
An easy to read key to the symbols is included!
Pre-sorted DMC threads
Kits are produced using DMC threads. Your threads will come
pre-sorted on punched cards and colour coded with the DMC number and symbols to correspond
to the printed chart.
Aida Fabric
Kits are produced using 14, 16 or 18 count Aida fabric depending on the
stitch count chosen for the design. 16 count fabric will give you a clear picture
but for more detail select the 18 count fabric (remember there will be more stitches
per inch). Please see our online guides for more information.
Needle
A needle completes the kit, allowing you to begin stitching straight away.
Prices will vary upon the size you would like your design. For more information on prices please visit our Prices page.

Cross Stitch Charts contain the same printed colour charts as our kits, together
with punched thread organiser cards and full instructions.
Charts do not include the DMC threads, Aida fabric or needle
Guide to colours and detail
There is often confusion about which Aida fabric and DMC colours to use when preparing a cross stitch chart from a photo. This is our own guide to clarify the situation and make selection simpler, especially if you are a first time stitcher!
Colours or threads
The number of colours or threads that make up a design do not affect
the amount of detail in the design. However, the more colours that are used the better
the chart will represent the original photo – up to a point! There are 447 thread
colours in the stranded cotton DMC range so the number of variations on a colour
such as, for example, pink are limited to maybe 15 or so. Once these shades have
been used adding more colours will not improve the image. We usually use around 50
colours for.... more.......
